MCV South Africa
Since acquiring the De Haan's bus factory in August 2007, MCV has made great strides into the Southern African bus market, so much that it is regarded as one of the main players in bus body manufacturing. The Cape Town body building plant was acquired, not only to give MCV a foothold in South Africa, but also to serve all the potentially lucrative right hand drive markets in the SADC region. MCV started with the upgrade of the factory layout, tooling and machinery, thus succeeded to duplicate the productivity from approximately 50 buses to 100 buses per annum within the first 2 years. Now the production capacity reaches 150 buses per annum aiming to raise the maximum capacity to 250 buses per annum by 2013.
